TITUSVILLE, FL — Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today responded to the decision of a Kentucky judge to allow abortion profiteers to resume killing unborn children in the state.
“Jefferson County Circuit Judge Mitch Perry has blocked enforcement of Kentucky laws that have been saving lives since Roe v. Wade was overturned. He said he wants more time to wrestle with his decision but it should be an easy one to make.
“Abortion advocates cited constitutional provisions of ‘privacy’ and ‘self-determination’. But such rights, valid in and of themselves, are quite different from the freedom to end another life.
“That’s what makes abortion unique and subject to additional considerations arising from the existence of that second life.
“We expect many efforts on the part of abortion supporters to find rights to abortion in various state constitutions,” Father Pavone concluded. “But even though these are different documents than the federal constitution, many of the arguments in the Dobbs case will apply, including the point above which the Dobbs Court also makes.”
