TITUSVILLE, FL – Pro-Life Leader Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today applauded Republican members of the House of Representatives for passing a bill to protect newborns who survive abortion and a resolution condemning attacks on pregnancy help centers and other pro-life facilities and churches.
“I am thankful today that pro-life lawmakers have the majority in the House,” Pavone said. “The pro-abortion Democrats, on the other hand, can no longer hide their extremism. The Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act has nothing to do with abortion, other than calling for life-saving care for newborns who survive this brutal procedure. It’s a life-saving bill, but not an abortion restriction. Democrats voted against it. They voted against saving the lives of the most vulnerable.
“Members of the pro-abortion party also turned a blind eye to the more than 200 violent attacks on pregnancy resource centers, churches and pro-life organizations that began in May, when the leak of the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade hit the media,” Pavone continued. “The attacks were cowardly. The lawmakers who refuse to condemn them showed themselves to be equally spineless. Thank God that we have courageous members willing to pass these measures today.”
Pavone noted that there are more pro-life measures to be passed in the session, including a bill that would protect taxpayer dollars from paying for abortions.
“We urge our fellow citizens to stay connected with us to know exactly when these votes will be so that they can encourage their representatives to vote in favor of life,” he said. “Go to StopAbortionNow to sign up for the alerts.”
