HARRISBURG, PA — The Garrity for PA Campaign is proud to announce that it has received the endorsement of former Pennsylvania U.S. Senator and two-time Republican candidate for President of the United States, Rick Santorum.

Senator Rick Santorum said: “Stacy Garrity’s life has been defined by service to her community, our Commonwealth, and our nation, and she has never wavered in her defense of the values that make America great. I am proud to endorse Stacy Garrity for Governor because Pennsylvania cannot afford four more years of Josh Shapiro’s failed leadership that has put his personal political ambitions above the well-being of hardworking Pennsylvania families. As Governor, Stacy Garrity will be a champion for Pennsylvania businesses, a voice for the voiceless, and a fighter for Pennsylvania taxpayers, and I am looking forward to supporting Stacy and her campaign in the weeks and months to come.”

Upon receiving Senator Santorum’s endorsement, Treasurer Stacy Garrity said: “I am honored to receive Senator Santorum’s endorsement. Rick Santorum has been a champion for Pennsylvania’s blue collar conservative values for more than three decades. In the U.S. Senate, he led the fight to help millions of Americans transition from welfare to work, bring transparency and accountability to multiple congressional scandals, and deliver time and again when our commonwealth needed leadership most. I am looking forward to working with Senator Santorum to defeat Josh Shapiro next November.”

Rick Santorum represented Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1991 – 1995 and the U.S. Senate from 1995 – 2007, where he rose to serve as Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference. As a member of the Gang of Seven, Santorum exposed the Congressional Banking and Post Office Scandals. Santorum was also the author and floor manager of the landmark, bipartisan 1996 Welfare Reform that helped millions of Americans transition from welfare to work. In 2012, Santorum ran for the Republican nomination for President, winning 11 states, including the Iowa Caucus, and nearly 4 million votes.

Quote of the week

“When I shrink from suffering, Jesus reproves me and tells me that He did not refuse to suffer. Then I say ‘Jesus, Your will and not mine’. At last I am convinced that only God can make me happy, and in Him I have placed all my hope…”
