Planned Parenthood of Illinois announced this week that it is partnering with the “telemedicine” abortion pill service Hey Jane in the hopes of expanding abortion in Illinois.

In addition to providing contraceptives in the mail, Hey Jane primarily mails abortion pills after the woman completes an online intake form. Hey Jane prides itself in providing “safe, private abortion care-no clinic visit needed.” The abortion organization also boasts of its acceptance of private insurance plans, its inconspicuous packaging when mailing abortion pills, and the fact that it provides FDA-approved abortion pills in 20 states and Washington, DC. This blurb from its website shows that the organization will send abortion pills to anyone over 18, as long as they have a form of ID: “Hey Jane provides care, regardless of immigration status, and you can provide any form of ID that has your name, photo, and date of birth. We support care for all pregnant people, including all gender identities.”

According to a report in Northern Public Radio, this specific partnership allows Hey Jane to ship the deadly pills to Planned Parenthood facilities in Illinois so that women can pick them up at the counter if they don’t want them shipped to their home. Hey Jane also advertises that women who live outside of its approved states can connect with its partners (other abortion organizations and Planned Parenthood) for help with travel to a state that allows abortion.

What makes all this even more insane is that Illinois already has strong pro-abortion laws, permitting abortions until 24-weeks’ gestation and allowing abortion following 24 weeks for exceptions, including the life and physical and mental health of the mother.

As American Life League pointed out in its recent abortion pill report, regardless of abortion laws in each state or whether abortion pills are approved by the FDA, these deadly pills are available via the mail to anyone in all 50 states through the loopholes of the mail service, shield laws, and current neglect by the respective US government agencies. This new partnership emphasizes that the abortion industry led by Planned Parenthood isn’t limited to providing ways for women to have their babies killed through abortion, but it is looking for even more ways for anyone to have the “convenience” to do so.

Quote of the week

“When I shrink from suffering, Jesus reproves me and tells me that He did not refuse to suffer. Then I say ‘Jesus, Your will and not mine’. At last I am convinced that only God can make me happy, and in Him I have placed all my hope…”
