TITUSVILLE, FL — The 35th season of Priests for Life’s Defending Life will premiere on EWTN at 11 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 3, with 13 new episodes and a new broadcast schedule. New episodes will air at 11 p.m. ET on Saturdays and will be rebroadcast at 3:30 a.m. ET on Mondays.
The show will have a new look, as it was produced for the first time at Priests for Life’s state-of-the-art television studio at its Titusville, Florida, headquarters.
Priests for Life Executive Director Janet Morana and Father David Begany, SSJ, a member of the St. Joseph’s Society for the Sacred Heart and pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church in Baytown, Texas, will serve as co-hosts.
The first show will highlight Father Begany’s journey to ordination and introduce new viewers to the Missionaries of the Gospel of Life, our training program in pro-life spirituality.
Other topics to be covered this season include in-depth looks at Priests for Life’s My Heart Beats Just Like Yours and Good Shepherd Projects; a discussion of pro-abortion politicians and communion; ways to encourage priests and deacons to preach about abortion; the latest on chemical abortion, and the importance of electing pro-life lawmakers.
“We are grateful to EWTN for giving us the opportunity to produce this show in our studio,” said Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. “Defending Life had its start when I met in 1994 with EWTN Foundress Mother Angelica and she told me she wanted me to produce a series on abortion for the network. Defending Life has become the longest-running, farthest-reaching show on abortion and the pro-life movement.”
Mrs. Morana said the new abortion landscape in the U.S. makes it more important than ever for Americans to be informed, and inspired to continue their own pro-life efforts.
“Our show will make viewers familiar with strategies that are winning,” she said, “and the people behind those strategies.”
