Value Them Both is a proposed amendment to the Kansas constitution that would make clear there is no inherent “right” to abortion in the state.
“This is the first abortion-related referendum since Roe v. Wade was overturned last month, and Kansas is the first of several states that will consider ballot amendments on abortion. State constitutions are the next battleground in the fight to end abortion,” Father Pavone said.
If the amendment fails, legislators will not be able to pass substantive protections for babies in the womb, and the right to abortion “discovered” by the Kansas Supreme Court in 2019 will remain.
“The significance of this vote goes far beyond Kansas,” Father Pavone said.
