Fr. Pavone: ‘Weak and time-worn’ arguments from Supreme Court’s liberal wing

WASHINGTON, D.C. –Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today expressed confidence that the Mississippi law protecting babies from abortion at 15 weeks would be upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.

“I was gratified to hear the kinds of questions the six conservative justices were asking,” Fr. Pavone said, “and I was not at all surprised to hear how utterly weak and time-worn the arguments of the three Democrat appointees were.

“They do not acknowledge that the changes in science are real, or that the confusion thrust upon judges and legislators by the Court’s approach to abortion is also real. These and other objective reasons have led us to the day when Mississippi, and other states, believe it is time to enact stronger protections for the unborn, and for unelected judges to stop imposing policies that the legislatures should be responsible for instead,” Fr. Pavone said.

“In the days ahead we will be studying these oral arguments and commenting more on this case,” he concluded. “Meanwhile, we urge people to study the arguments and join our prayer campaign for victory in this case at www.SupremeCourtVictory.com.”
