TITUSVILLE, FL — “It’s all about the judges,” Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, said today regarding a federal judge in Arkansas who this week blocked three abortion laws from being enacted.
The laws – which would protect babies from abortion beyond 18 weeks; protect babies with Down syndrome from abortion and require that only obstetrician-gynecologists perform abortions – were set to go into effect yesterday, but have been placed on hold by a federal judge in Arkansas who was chosen by former President Barack Obama during his tenure in the White House.
“These laws are being challenged by abortion profiteers in Arkansas who have a financial interest in ensuring that no baby in the state is safe,” Father Pavone said. “They were fortunate to encounter a judge appointed by a president who was the most pro-abortion chief executive this nation has ever endured.
“Arkansas is a perfect example for how important the selection of federal judges is, and points to the incredible job President Trump is doing in getting his judges seated on district courts, circuit courts and the Supreme Court. There are many more vacancies to fill.
“Judges appointed by President Trump are not going to read into the Constitution a right to abortion that clearly does not exist there,” Father Pavone continued. “That’s why it’s all about the judges, and why it is vitally important that we elect the president to a second term.”
