WATERTOWN, MASS. –
On November 19, 2018, The CatholicTV Network will hold a Day of Penance and Prayer at Catholic TV’s Chapel of the Holy Cross from 9am-9pm ET. The 12-hour service will be broadcast live and is part of the recently launched Together We Rebuild campaign.
The Day of Penance and Prayer will include Holy Mass, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Rosary, and testimonies from Catholics across the country. The Day of Penance and Prayer will be airing live on CatholicTVLIVE.com, local cable and satellite stations, Roku, Amazonfire TV, Samsung SmartTV, Apple TV, iOS, and android devices.
Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Boston and President of The CatholicTV Network, Bishop Robert Reed, will be leading the Day of Penance and Prayer. Bishop Reed reflected, “This twelve-hour period is just a tiny offering. I pray this effort will, by God’s grace, serve to make some difference by focusing our attention on the presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist in the midst of these difficult times.”
The CatholicTV Network announced on November 6, 2018 its launch of a 6-month initiative called Together We Rebuild in response to the sexual abuse crisis in the Catholic Church. Culminating on Easter Sunday 2019, CatholicTV’s Together We Rebuild Campaign will focus on penance and prayer for the healing and restoration of the Church. Each month of the campaign will be guided by a theme related to rebuilding and will include corresponding programming and resources such as video series, blogs, magazine articles, and social media initiatives.
