CATHOLIC MINUTE — The Novena to the Holy Spirit, was the very first novena said as the apostles waited for the promise of the Father after Jesus ascended to heaven. Traditionally, The Holy Spirit Novena for the Seven Gifts is prayed leading up to Pentecost to celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Mary and the Apostles.

In this video Catholic Speakers Ken and Janelle reflect upon who is the holy spirit and the role of the spirit our lives. Traditional prayers that accompany the Holy Spirit novena can be found at the end of the reflection.

Quote of the week

“When I shrink from suffering, Jesus reproves me and tells me that He did not refuse to suffer. Then I say ‘Jesus, Your will and not mine’. At last I am convinced that only God can make me happy, and in Him I have placed all my hope…”
St. Gemma Galgani
