On behalf of Kentucky Right to Life and our Chapters across the Commonwealth, we are deeply grieved by the tragic shooting and loss of Charlie Kirk — a courageous American patriot whose voice inspired a generation of young people to champion the timeless truths that sustain our nation.

This cowardly act of political violence strikes at the heart of civil discourse and the dignity of peaceful expression.

Our hearts are heavy with sorrow for Charlie’s wife, Erika, and their young children. May they be enfolded in the comfort of Christ, and in the embrace of compassionate friends and family in this unbearable hour. We hold them close in prayer, asking God to grant them strength and peace.

We also extend our prayers and solidarity to the students, faculty, and staff of Utah Valley University, whose pursuit of thoughtful dialogue was shattered by this senseless act.

To all who work to foster free exchange and mutual respect in a divided age: be assured that your courage does not go unnoticed, and your efforts to preserve civil engagement are more vital than ever.

At Kentucky Right to Life, we are committed to upholding the inherent dignity of every person and the sacredness of life. Let us resolve that this moment of darkness will not erode our faith in the power of peaceful persuasion, nor our belief that political differences must be met with truth and charity — not violence.

May Charlie’s memory galvanize us to stand more firmly for life, liberty, and the freedoms we cherish. And, May God Grant Eternal Rest Unto His Soul.

In grief, in hope, and in steadfast resolve,

we stand united.

Executive Director, Kentucky Right to Life.

Quote of the week

“When I shrink from suffering, Jesus reproves me and tells me that He did not refuse to suffer. Then I say ‘Jesus, Your will and not mine’. At last I am convinced that only God can make me happy, and in Him I have placed all my hope…”
St. Gemma Galgani
