Washington, D.C. —On January 13, Live Action announced the release of Jubilee Media’s latest episode of its popular video series Surrounded, featuring Lila Rose, president and founder of Live Action. On this episode, Lila debated 25 pro-abortion activists for two hours. They discussed everything from human rights to bodily autonomy to the physical and emotional effects of abortion on women and society as a whole.
The viral video focused on Lila’s four key claims:
- Abortion leaves women scarred for life.
- Abortion cannot be justified under any circumstance.
- Every unborn child has the right to life.
- Abortion is unconstitutional and should be banned.
Many interactions included individuals shouting across the table at her, but Rose calmly spoke the truth about the sanctity of life in the womb and the brutality of abortion procedures with compassion and persistence.
Lila Rose spoke on the importance of justice for children in the womb, saying:
“It’s essential for the rule of law, for justice, for human rights that we are cautious to protect the rights of those who are dependent and weak because if we live in a society that just says the strong get to choose what they want because they can, that’s not a just or a loving society. That’s why I’m so pro-life because a baby is totally dependent on their mother and entirely unable to defend themselves and speak up for themselves. This is all the more reason why we as a civil and just society should care about their right to live and also help support the mother.”
When asked if the pro-life and pro-abortion movements could find a middle ground, Lila said,
“It’s important to have conversations with people you disagree with, and I’m grateful to everyone who came to debate with me, but for me, there is no middle ground. These are human lives, and it is life or death for that child.”
Previous episodes of Surrounded have also featured abortion as a topic, including notable figures such as Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro, TPUSA’s Charlie Kirk, and United States Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
