Discover the untold story of St. Jude, the patron saint of hope and impossible causes
CHICAGO, Oct. 23, 2024 /Christian Newswire/ — The Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) explores a sacred space of devotion and miracles at the National Shrine of St. Jude. Located within Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on the South Side of Chicago, the Shrine was founded by the Claretian Missionaries in 1929. More than three million people participate in this community of prayer.
This new episode, Hidden Gems: The National Shrine of St. Jude, premieres on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. EST on EWTN. October 28 is also the Feast Day of St. Jude, a day of celebration.
“The National Shrine of St. Jude is a remarkable place of hope and miracles that people need to learn about,” said Michael O’Neil, Producer, EWTN. “The Hidden Gems series provides Catholics from the United States with the opportunity to discover, and then hopefully visit, these great treasures of our faith.”
Fr. Eddie DeLeon, former Provincial of the Claretian Missionaries-USA Eastern Province (now the merged Province of USA-CANADA), attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church growing up and visited the Shrine regularly. “The Claretians serve the needs of those on the margins,” he said. “[We] serve the Latino community who felt maybe forgotten. So here, they are not forgotten. Here, they have a name. Here, we see them.”
