From Christine Niles on YouTube:

Ven. Abp. Fulton Sheen once said, “If you’re the same today as you were a year ago, you’re actually worse.” There is no such thing as standing still in the spiritual life. You’re either moving forward, or you’re moving backward. A lot of Catholics are in a holding pattern. And that’s not how it’s supposed to be. The whole point of our lives is to advance in sanctity, in virtue. We are supposed to be growing in charity, in patience, in humility, in mercy — in all of the virtues. If we are not, then there’s a problem. There’s something wrong with what we’re doing in our spiritual life. Christine explores this topic in this episode, posing some tough challenges to the viewer, then offering ways we can get un-stuck from our spiritual rut.

Quote of the week

“When I shrink from suffering, Jesus reproves me and tells me that He did not refuse to suffer. Then I say ‘Jesus, Your will and not mine’. At last I am convinced that only God can make me happy, and in Him I have placed all my hope…”
St. Gemma Galgani
