TITUSVILLE, FL – Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today thanked the governor, legislators and pro-life activists of South Carolina for their work to protect babies from abortion once a heartbeat has been detected.

“The presence of a heartbeat in the unborn child is a clear sign of life,” Father Pavone said. “The fact that abortion stops a beating heart gives many people reason to stop and re-evaluate their position on this issue.

Today South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster signed into law the South Carolina Fetal Heartbeat and Protection from Abortion Act, joining 11 other states that protect babies with beating hearts from abortion.

“I have been with the Governor when he has spoken clearly and forcefully on behalf of the unborn,” Father Pavone said. “That is the kind of leadership we need in every statehouse and in Washington. There is no excuse for the constant drumbeat we hear from the Democrats for more and more abortion. We need public servants who know the difference between serving the public and killing the public.”

Quote of the week

“When I shrink from suffering, Jesus reproves me and tells me that He did not refuse to suffer. Then I say ‘Jesus, Your will and not mine’. At last I am convinced that only God can make me happy, and in Him I have placed all my hope…”
