National pro-life leaders meeting this month at Priests for Life headquarters in Titusville, Florida, signed a joint letter to members of Congress, urging them to protect taxpayer dollars by defunding Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses.

Memo from Pro-life Leaders to Members of Congress
As pro-life leaders across the United States, we write today to urge you to protect the taxpayer dollars of American citizens from funding abortion and abortion businesses such as Planned Parenthood.
American jurisprudence has consistently maintained that the legality of abortion does not create an obligation for the state to fund it.
Moreover, polling has consistently indicated that Americans do not want their tax dollars paying for abortions.
A number of Executive Actions of the Trump Administration have begun the process of protecting our tax dollars from funding abortion and abortion businesses, and a number of bills have been introduced in the 119th Congress to strengthen and expand that protection.
As leaders of pro-life groups, we represent millions of Americans who want to see such protections secured by federal law. We know that they will join their voices with ours in supporting specific efforts to end taxpayer funding of abortion and abortion businesses in America. We urge you to heed their voices and vote for all appropriate legislation to achieve that goal.
