Washington, D.C. – Following the pardon of 23 pro-life prisoners, Lila Rose, founder and president of Live Action, released the following statement:
“By pardoning 23 peaceful pro-life activists who were unjustly prosecuted, President Trump has taken an important step forward for the pro-life movement. Biden’s Department of Justice targeted these individuals for their courage in protecting preborn children, and this decision affirms every American’s right to peacefully advocate for life.
This action is a step in the right direction, but more must be done to protect the lives of our nation’s preborn children at risk of being killed by abortion.
- Defund Planned Parenthood: Planned Parenthood ends the lives of over 1,000 preborn children every single day while receiving nearly $700 million in taxpayer funding annually. Planned Parenthood has been exposed for aiding child abusers, profiting from the sale of organs and tissues of aborted children, and killing millions of pre-born children. It’s time to redirect these funds to community health centers that genuinely care for women and families without taking innocent lives. President Trump can do this by instructing the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to ensure Planned Parenthood is stripped of all federal funding by issuing guidance that blocks Medicaid and Title X funds from going to abortion providers.
- Protect Americans from the Abortion Pill: Immediately revoke the dangerous Biden administration rules allowing Mail-order chemical abortions must be revoked.
- Stop our military from being used to advance abortion: The Biden executive order mandating taxpayer-funded abortion travel and procedures on military bases must be rescinded. The military’s mission is to protect lives, not end them.
- Reinstate the Mexico City Policy: No American should be forced to fund abortions overseas. The Mexico City Policy ensures that U.S. tax dollars are not used to promote or perform abortions abroad, standing as a global declaration for life.
- Stop Funding UN Population Fund: Withdraw Biden funding from the UN Population Fund – a group that participates in programs of coercive abortion and involuntary sterilization
Lila Rose will speak at the National March for Life in Washington, D.C., alongside newly elected Vice President JD Vance and other prominent pro-life voices. Hundreds of thousands are expected to march in the annual event to raise awareness of the millions of children killed by abortion in America.
