TITUSVILLE, FL — Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today thanked South Carolina pro-life activists and lawmakers for their commitment to life.

“The South Carolina House and Senate have passed a bill that would protect babies once a heartbeat can be detected,” he said. “This was the first issue legislators tackled in the new year, which shows they have their priorities straight. Gov. Henry McMaster has said he will sign the bill, putting South Carolina on track to be a sanctuary state for many babies in the womb.

“Of course every baby, even those whose heartbeats are not yet detectable, deserves protection but every child who can be saved is a win for the pro-life movement.”

Quote of the week

“When I shrink from suffering, Jesus reproves me and tells me that He did not refuse to suffer. Then I say ‘Jesus, Your will and not mine’. At last I am convinced that only God can make me happy, and in Him I have placed all my hope…”
