FRANCE 24 — Coronamap Live uses geo-localisation to provide information about the movements of people who tested positive for Covid-19. The government tracks infected people’s movements using surveillance cameras and credit card records. This information is then made public. The site has been credited with helping South Korea to contain the virus and, in turn, enabling the country to vote in the national assembly elections. Voter turnout reached a 20-year high. South Korea’s government has warned that the battle against the virus is far from over. But on this day, democracy was the clear winner.
