Fr. Alan

In the homily for Wednesday of the Thirty-third Week in Ordinary Time (Nov 20, 2019), Fr. Alan affirms that, just as the mother in Maccabees encouraged her sons to die for the faith rather than capitulate to a merely human law, we too should encourage each other to stay true to God’s law rather than transgress to comply with erroneous human will, even if it be the will of “all the nations.” Such may be the case in principle with some of the U. N. Sustainable Development Goals: we have to oppose them because they imply transgression of the divine will.

Let us remember the words of Our Lord and King: “All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world” (Mt 28:18-20).

Ave Maria!

Quote of the week

“When I shrink from suffering, Jesus reproves me and tells me that He did not refuse to suffer. Then I say ‘Jesus, Your will and not mine’. At last I am convinced that only God can make me happy, and in Him I have placed all my hope…”
St. Gemma Galgani
