TITUSVILLE, FL — Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, released the following statement after learning of the death of retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.
“Our prayers go out tonight for the soul of Justice John Paul Stevens, and our condolences to his family and friends.
“He was seated three years after Roe v. Wade and has been credited by abortion advocates as instrumental in the case Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania vs. Casey, a 1992 decision that allowed the legal killing of the unborn to continue.
“His passing certainly, and appropriately, again turns our attention to the importance of the Court, and of the appointment of judges who will not invent rights that do not exist.”
