WASHINGTON, D.C. – Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today congratulated Daniel Bress on becoming the latest of President Trump’s appointees confirmed for the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
“The U.S. Senate’s confirmation today of Judge Daniel Bress makes the seventh Trump appointee on the traditionally liberal Ninth Circuit,” Father Pavone said. “There are now 12 Republican-appointed judges, with another three vacancies to be filled. With 15 judges on the 29-judge court, the Ninth Circuit will no longer reliably rubber-stamp the liberal agenda.”
Father Pavone noted that the Ninth Circuit will be reviewing the Trump administration’s cutoff of Title X funding to abortion providers.
“Until recently the outcome of that review would be easy to predict,” Father Pavone said. “But the influence of the president’s nominees helps to even the playing field.”
